Spain

The Spanish government has set an ambition to deliver up to 3 GW of floating offshore wind projects by 2030.

Energising Spain with offshore wind

The government of Spain is seeking to increase the share of renewables in domestic electricity generation.

As part of a Roadmap for Offshore Wind Power, it has declared an ambition to build up to 3 GW of floating offshore wind by the end of the decade.

In September 2022, global offshore wind developer Corio Generation signed a partnership agreement with Qualitas Energy (Q-Energy), a global renewables investment and management platform, to explore offshore wind projects across the Spanish coastline.

The partnership combines Corio’s industrial capability and access to long-term capital with Q-Energy’s renewables experience and local market knowledge, promising to help unleash the country’s huge potential for offshore wind power generation.

Determined to make a positive impact

As one of the world’s leading offshore wind developers, Corio Generation is expertly placed to support the energy transition in Spain.

Bringing together a sector-leading team of industrial, finance, development and asset management experts, Corio has one of the largest offshore wind development portfolios, standing at more than 30+ GW worldwide. Read more.
