Norway

Norway has committed to reducing carbon emissions by at least 55 per cent by 2030 and aims to allocate 30 GW of offshore wind capacity by 2040.

Energising Norway with offshore wind

The Norwegian North Sea is seen as a prime location for developing some of Europe’s first commercial-scale floating offshore wind projects.

Nordvegen Vind

Corio has partnered with Norwegian developer Å Energi to form the Nordvegen Vind development project. As Nordvegen Vind, we expect to bid for Norway’s first grid-scaled floating offshore wind farm at Utsira Nord, a deep-water site off the south-west coast of Norway.

Utsira Nord is one of two areas the Norwegian government has opened to licensing rounds, with 1.5 GW available in the first round of development.

Brigg Vind

Corio is part of the Brigg Vind consortium in addition, partnering with Å Energi and Vårgrønn to explore further opportunities, including for fixed-bottom offshore wind projects, in Norway’s developing offshore wind sector.
